‘Ask’ and ‘Embla’ are the same wool but spun in 2-ply and 3-ply respectively. The colour range and reference numbers are the same. They are both 100% pure wool and are suitable for felting. Hand washing and drying flat is recommended. Softener can also be used. We have knitting patterns especially for Ask and Embla: please see the pattern page.
- ‘Ask’ is a 2-ply hand knitting yarn approximately equivalent to UK 4-ply.
- Handknitting with 3.5mm needles gives approximately 24 sts x 32 rows to 10cm x 10cm. As there is no direct equivalent in UK sizes, always work a test tension square before starting to knit.
- Each 100g skein is approximately 315m long, (Nm 6.3/2).
