Ask’ and ‘Embla’ are the same wool but spun in 2-ply and 3-ply respectively. The colour range and reference numbers are the same. They are both 100% pure wool and are suitable for felting. Hand washing and drying flat is recommended. Softener can also be used. We have knitting patterns especially for Ask and Embla: please see the pattern page.
- ‘Embla’ is a 3-ply hand knitting yarn approximately equivalent to UK double knit.
- Handknitting with 4mm needles gives approximately 20 sts x 27 rows to 10cm x 10cm. As there is no direct equivalent in UK sizes, always work a test tension square before starting to knit.
- Each 100g skein is approximately 210 m long, (Nm 6.3/3).
